About Jeffrey Jensen
A friend talked me into buying my first camera back in the early 70's, 'What am I going to do with that?' I responded. Fast forward a few months to a garage sale where I picked up an old Ceroflex twin lens reflex for $2, took it to a camera shop to figure it out and never looked back. Some years later found me working for a commercial photographer for several years. Back then when film was still the only choice, any work had to be done right the first time both technically and in the set-up. We are spoiled these days with being able to create or be creative with any scene.
What picks my attention in photography? The quality of illumination, a word derived from the Latin word Lucere, a noun meaning to shine. The quality of light provokes many emotions of glowing thoughts of humanity, unconditional love, compassion, the soft warm light from high up in the spectrum from about 2400 degrees Kelvin to just under 3000 degrees. Over 4000 Kelvin and emotional trends of light turn to assertiveness, power, especially combined with contrasty deep shadows dying to tell a story. That said, just about anything with the above qualities gets my attention. In recent times black and white and still life subjects have become foremost in my preferences.

NOTE: In some cases, I have chosen to not sell a particular product because the size or orientation would not work. FineArtAmerica chooses default background colors for most all items which I have edited. If you want a particular colored background, cropping or if the particular product is not available for the image write me and I'll make it available. If you are interested in a special grouping or effect, please contact me and I'll see what I can do.
